Coached LMU from 1949-1951.

Although his tenure as Head Football Coach was Brief-Three Years- His Loyola University Football Teams' accomplishments were many. He led the Lions to a school record 12 consecutive victories between the 1949 and 1950 seasons and an overall record of 17-11 during his tenure. The 1950 Lions Squad ranked among the top offensive teams in the nation, averaging 33 points per game and posting an impressive 8-1 record. The team's only loss came by a two-point margin to Santa Clara. In his tenure as Lions Coach, he was the mentor for University Hall of Famers Bob Boyd, Gene Brito, Ernie Sheatham, DOn Klosterman, Maury Nipp, and Geaorge Musacco. After the university dropped the football program following the 1951 campaign, he moved on to become Yale University's Head Football Coach, posting a 61-32-6 record and leading that team to IVY League Titles in 1956 and 1960.
