LMU is enhancing screening procedures at Gersten Pavilion home events to provide a safer environment for the public and significantly expedite fan entry into the venue. To continue the commitment to provide a safe environment for the public and enhance the security screening process at Gersten Pavilion, Loyola Marymount University will implement a
Clear Bag Policy for women's indoor volleyball, men's basketball, and women's basketball games. The Gersten Pavilion
Clear Bag Policy will begin with all home games starting on Sept. 21, 2023, with the women's volleyball WCC home opener against Saint Mary's and continue through all future games throughout this season and future seasons for LMU's sports that use the venue.
Fans are asked to adhere to the policy by leaving all prohibited non-clear bags/purses or clutches at home or in their vehicle.
The following are guidelines outlining bags that are permitted into Gersten Pavilion:
-Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12".
-One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag.
-Small clutch purse, with or without strap or handle that do not exceed 4.5" x 6.5".
-An exception for medically necessary items after proper inspection at a designated entrance.
Fans will continue to be able to carry items in their hands into the stadium such as cameras, infant care items, books, and computers as long as they are inside an approved clear bag and properly screened.
Additionally, the following items ARE NOT PERMITTED into Gersten Pavilion:
- Bags that violate the Clear Bag Policy (12" x 6" x 12")
- Backpacks, bags, clutches or purses larger than 4.5" x 6.5"
- Aerosol cans
- Animals (other than service animals required because of a disability)
- Balls, toys, sports equipment, or similar throwable items
- Banners, signs, flags, poles, or sticks
- Boxes, coolers, or wrapped packages of any size
- Cans or glass bottles
- Drug and drug paraphernalia
- Helium balloons
- Laser pointers of any type
- Offensive clothing
- Noisemakers including thunder sticks, musical instruments, whistles, air horns and boom boxes
- Skates, skateboards, scooters or bicycles
- Weapons or projectiles of any kind
This policy pertains to bags and is not an all-inclusive list of items that are prohibited from being taken into Gersten Pavilion.
