CHULA VISTA, CA - The LMU women's rowing team traveled to Chula Vista, CA this past weekend for the first annual Triton Invitational hosted by UC San Diego.
 
In the morning races, the V8 boat finished in second place with a time of 6:57.1. They were only 4.7 seconds short of claiming first place from UCSD. In the second race of the day, the 2V8 boat came out with the victory taking first place with a time of 7:14.4 while UCSD followed with a time of 7:19.3. The last race of the morning was the V4 race. The Lions finished behind the Tritons with a time of 8:12.4 to earn them second place.
 
In the afternoon races, LMU took third place with a time of 6:59.2, behind Gonzaga and Sacramento State. This was a strong showing for LMU, as they were able to finish ahead of several other competitive teams in the race. During the second race, the 2V8 had a solid performance, finishing in third place with a time of 7:08.8 with Gonzaga taking first (7:02.7) and Sac State taking second (7:07.8).
 
The last race of the day for the Lions was the V4. The Lions finished in second with a time of 8:01.9 falling short to Gonzaga, but defeated Sac State.
