Students who choose LMU for higher learning receive a world-class education on a campus known for its athletic excellence. The LMU Athletics Department is committed to assisting student-athletes achieve their full potential both academically and athletically.
The Student-Athlete Services staff supports all student-athletes in their academic and personal development. The staff provides guidance to each LMU student-athlete in their transition from high school student to college student-athlete.
Tradition of Excellence
LMU has a proud reputation of academic excellence among its student-athletes. LMU Athletics also had a Graduation Success Rate of 95 percent for all student-athletes who received Athletics aid (joined team or transferred to LMU, and are part of the same entering cohort). Overall, LMU's GSR rate of 95 percent is five percent better than the NCAA average of 90 percent. In this most recent data, 15 LMU teams recorded marks of 86 percent or better. Every one of LMU's teams are above the fed rate.
Eight LMU teams registered perfect 100 GSR marks, including men's golf, men's tennis, men's and women's cross country and track, women's soccer women's swimming, women's tennis, and women's water polo. The perfect score is the ninth straight for women's water polo, the seventh straight for women's tennis, the sixth straight swimming, the fifth straight for golf and women's cross country and track.
The 2018-19 Academic Progress Rate (APR) report, posted in January 2020, Women's Swimming, men's water polo, and men's golf received a score of 1000 (perfect) in their multi-year assessment. 18 of 19 LMU Varsity teams scored above a 960 multiyear APR.

Student-Athlete Handbook
