LAKE NATOMA, CA -The LMU Lions competed in the WCC Championship Saturday morning, and they ended up with great results. San Diego, Gonzaga, Saint Mary's College, Santa Clara, Portland, and Creighton joined them in the races.
In the V4 race, LMU clinched the bronze, crossing the finish line in third place at 8:02.380. San Diego secured second place at 07:56.140, while Gonzaga claimed the top spot with an impressive time of 7:30.180.
In the 2V8 race, LMU placed sixth with a time of 7:36.030, closely trailing Creighton (7:26.310), Portland (7:14.200), Saint Mary's (7:12.840), Gonzaga (6:52.390), and San Diego, who clinched first place with a time of 6:51.390.
In the V8 race, the Lions secured third place with 6:53.790, as Gonzaga took first with 6:38.800 for first place and San Diego followed closely in second with 6:50.860.
Overall, the Lions clinched third place among the seven competing teams, tying Saint Mary's with 24 points.
The WCC also announced All Conference Awards and two Lions finished the season with recognitions.
Georgia Guinan and
Brittany Steenbergen earned spots on the WCC All-Conference Team, marking a well-deserved honor for their season-long achievements.
