Men's Basketball

A Quick Look: Buay Tuach

July 30, 2015

LOS ANGELES - The LMU Sports Network is taking a quick look at the seven newcomers for LMU men's basketball, and the summer series continues with freshman Buay Tuach.

Tuach started 50 of 52 games in his two seasons at Northeast C.C., leading his team to a 25-7 record this past season. As a sophomore he averaged 16.7 points overall, jumping that to 18.8 in conference play. He added to that 6.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game, while shooting 38.9 percent from three and an impressive 60.5 percent clip from the field.

Tuach, who was an all-conference selection last season, joins a loaded recruiting class that combined to post a record of 266-98 (73.1 winning percentage) in each of their final two seasons at the previous institution. Tuach will join National NJCAA Player of the Year and two-time NJCAA All-American Brandon Brown (Phoenix College; Phoenix, Ariz.), 2014 CCCAA All-State forward Adom Jacko (Chaffey College; Racho Cucamonga, Calif.), McDonald All-American Games nominee Jeffery McClendon (Eastside HS, Lancaster, CA), NJCAA All-Conference selection Shamar Johnson (Pensacola State College; Pensacola, Fla.), and Canadian National Team member Munis Tutu (La Lumiere School; LaPorte, Ind.). They will all join the Lions for the 2015-16 season.
