LMU Top Highlights of 2018-19 - #6

Top 10 Highlights and Memories, accomplishments, and moments highlighted Loyola Marymount's 2018-19 school year. As we prepare for more excitement in 2019-20, we're counting down the Top 10 Moments of this past year.
 
LOS ANGELES – Loyola Marymount's women's basketball team, men's basketball team and the softball team all put together impressive seasons, resulting in post-season bids. 
 
The women's basketball team received a bid to the Women's National Invitation Tournament after going 18-15 on the season, while going 10-8 in conference play. The Lions made it to the second round of the West Coast Conference Tournament after cruising past San Francisco. 
 
LMU hosted University of Idaho in the first round of the WNIT, the Lions' first post season stint since 2004 and the first time back in the WNIT since 2001.   
After compiling 20 wins for the second time in program history, the men's basketball team earned a bid to the 2019 Roman College Basketball Invitational. The Lions made their first ever CBI appearance and their first post season appearance since 2012. 
 
LMU took on California Baptist in the first round, where the team won 56-55 to advance to the second round, where they hosted Brown University, picking up an easy 81-63 win. The Lions' win advanced the team to the semifinals, where they played South Florida.     
 
The Lions won the NISC Regionals after going 4-1 in Reno, Nev., beating UC Riverside, Fresno State and Nevada twice. The regional win advanced the team to the NISC Championships, where the Lions had a 6-5 win over Iowa State, and then played UT Arlington and Iowa State again.
