LMU Top Highlights of 2018-19 - #7

Top 10 Highlights and Memories, accomplishments, and moments highlighted Loyola Marymount's 2018-19 school year. As we prepare for more excitement in 2019-20, we're counting down the Top 10 Moments of this past year.
 
 
LOS ANGELES – The men and women's tennis teams both had record setting 2018-19 seasons, as the teams earned their highest national rankings in LMU program history.
 
The women's tennis earned its first-ever top 50 ranking by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association in March at No. 50 after a three-match winning streak. The Lions continued the momentum, climbing up to No. 43, the highest team ranking in program history.
The doubles tandem of Veronika Miroshnichenko and Eva Marie Voracek were ranked as high as No. 58 in doubles play after going 7-3 from the No. 1 spot.
The Lions ended the season with an overall record of 11-10 and made it to the second round of the West Coast Conference Tournament.
 
The men's tennis team boasted a doubles and singles ranking this season, as the doubles tandem of Diego Nava and Nick Borchenko were ranked as high as No. 32 by the ITA in March, the highest doubles ranking in program history. The pair's ranking came after putting together an undefeated 5-0 record at the No. 1 spot. The pair beat several ranked pairs, including a ranked No. 6 duo from TCU.
Lukas Moenter opened his fall campaign with a historic run at the ITA Men's All-American Championship, winning five of six matches, earning a No. 60 ranking, the highest singles ranking in program history. Moenter was ranked as high as No. 86 in singles dual play and beat several ranked opponents at the No. 1 spot.
