Second-Round Surge Propels Lions, Lewis to First

San Francisco, Calif. – After winning the opening tournament of the season, LMU men's golf is once again at the top of the leaderboard following the first two rounds of play at the USF-Howard Intercollegiate. The Lions shot the day's low round of 272 after opening the tournament with a 281. LMU's 553 puts the team at 23-under par and six strokes up on the second-place USF Dons.

LMU used 27 of their tournament-high 45 birdies to jump four positions in the second round to overtake the lead after Monday's play concluded. The Lions were the only team to shoot under par on Par-4 holes, finishing at 7-under on such holes.

Riley Lewis continues to lead the Lions and is tied for first at 9-under. Lewis shot 67-68—135 over the two rounds. Lewis accounted for a dozen of the team's birdies.
