MARANA, Ariz. –
Trevor Algya closed out a stellar LMU career with his final 18 holes as a Lion on Wednesday. Algya, the #144-ranked golfer in Division I tied for 53
rd of 75 in the NCAA Marana Regional after shooting 76-71-75—222 at the event.
Algya recorded two more birdies on Wednesday, to finish the week with nine birdies over his 54 tournament holes at the The Gallery GC – North. Algya's birdie on 16 brought his score to 3-over on the day and 6-over for the tournament.
The 2026 DI men's golf championship features 81 teams and 45 individuals beginning in regional competition, competing for a spot in the championship finals. Teams are split into six different regionals, with play beginning on Monday, May 18 and running through Wednesday, May 20.
The teams advancing out of the regional are the hosts #18 Arizona, #5 Oklahoma State, #8 LSU, #29 Duke, and #44 Arkansas State. Alabama's William Jennings will advance as the individual out of the field after his four-way tie for first.
Algya is the 14
th Lion to earn individual selection to the NCAA Tournament. Riley Lewis advanced to the NCAA Championships out of the Morgan Hill Regional in 2023.
