MARANA, Ariz. –
Trevor Algya shot 1-under par in his second round of play at the 2026 NCAA Marana Regional. The LMU senior recorded five birdies and now jumped into a tie for 48
th after shooting 76-71—147 in the tournament thus far.
Algya's day started with a birdie on Hole 2. After moving back to par for the day with a bogie on three, back-to-back birdies on 5 and 6 lowered his score to 2-under for the next six holes. The next three holes pushed Algya to 1-over for the round by the senior responded with back-to-back birdies on 16 and 17 and a pair on 18 to close out the round.
With his 71, Algya moved up five positions from a tie for 53
rd to his place tied at 48. Algya's second round performance included four more birdies than the day before and his best front nine of the week at 34.
The final round from The Gallery GC – North will begin with a 9:01 AM tee time from the first hole. Algya will be paired with a golfer from both San Diego State and North Dakota State. Live scoring will be available on Scoreboard by Clippd.
The 2026 DI men's golf championship features 81 teams and 45 individuals beginning in regional competition, competing for a spot in the championship finals. Teams are split into six different regionals, with play beginning on Monday, May 18 and running through Wednesday, May 20.
The low five teams and low individual from each region will qualify for a spot in the championship finals. Thirty teams and six individuals in total will compete in the finals from Friday, May 29 to Wednesday, June 3 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.

th Lion to earn individual selection to the NCAA Tournament. Riley Lewis advanced to the NCAA Championships out of the Morgan Hill Regional in 2023.
