Pawleys Island, SC – LMU men's golf lowered their score once again following the second round of play at the Golfweek Fall Challenge. The Lions are 31-under par through two days and sit just two strokes off the leaders in a two-way tie for second place.
LMU followed their opening day 271 with a 274 and is tied with Western Carolina at 545 for the tournament. Washington State took the lead with a 272-271—543.
Riley Lewis put together his second clean round in as many days, adding four birdies to his total. Lewis is tied for third at 65-68—133.
After opening his second round with a bogie, freshman
Mason Snyder did not hit over par again over the final 17 holes and sits alone in sixth place at 68-66—134. Four consecutive birdies between holes 13 and 16 led to a five-under back nine.
Tony Hendricks put together a 5-under front nine and finished his day in the top-10 with a 69-68—137. Hendricks shot under 4-under par for the round and is currently at 7-under through two days.
Caden McMackin played an even second round, recording both a birdie and a bogie in both the front and back nine. His 68-72—140 puts him in an eight-way tie for 16
th.
Trevor Algya shot par on Monday and is now tied for 30
th at 69-72—141. Algya added five birdies to his total.
Closing out the LMU five is
Cade Anderson at 71-78—149.
Tournament play will continue with the final round of play on Tuesday from True Blue Golf Club. LMU will tee off in nine-minute increments beginning at 9:09 AM EST.
