LOS ANGELES – LMU men's basketball has signed their third player out of the transfer portal with the addition of former LSU and Murray State guard Justice Hill. The former first-team all-conference player in the Ohio Valley Conference and NABC All-District player will join the Lions for the 2023-24 with one year of eligibility.
"I chose LMU because it was one of those things that you can feel is right for you," said Hill. "Everything that the coaching staff is about, I'm about and I feel like it is the best place for me to become the best I can be both on and off the court. It's nothing but love at LMU from my teammates, the community, and the coaches and I'm looking forward to making some noise in March."
Hill has scored 771 in three seasons at the Division I level, including playing and starting all 34 games for Murray State's NCAA Tournament season in 2022. The Racers went 31-4 that season, including beating San Francisco in the opening round of the Tournament, with Hill averaging 17 points per game, 6.5 assists, and 3.5 rebounds in those games.
"Juice brings high level NCAA Tournament experience to our program," said Head Coach
Stan Johnson. "He's won a game as a player at Murray State in the NCAA Tournament, and he's played at the highest level at LSU. Both of those experiences will help propel our program in the right direction. Juice has incredible talent and is a tremendous teammate. His ability to make everyone around him better, mixed with his speed allows us to play the brand of basketball we love. I'm proud that he chose us, and I'm excited for what that means for our program. We got the 'Juice.'"
The signing follows the announcements of Mike Meadows and Justin Wright signing with Coach Johnson a week prior. Hill will be immediately eligible to compete with the Lions.
