LOS ANGELES - For the third time this season, LMU's Cam Shelton has been named WCC Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday. This week's recognition is a Co-Player of the Week recognition for Shelton, as he shares the honor with Brandin Podziemski of Santa Clara.

Cam Shelton put an emphatic punctuation on the end of the regular season Saturday night in LMU's rivalry win over Pepperdine and the four-seed in the upcoming WCC Championships on the line. The WCC's scoring leader in conference games moved into a tie in over scoring this season with his fourth 30-plus point game over his last five played. The Lions needed Shelton to have a huge second half after trailing at intermission, and the senior did just that. Shelton scored 25 of his game-high 32 points in the second half to help LMU complete the comeback win. Shelton hit 10 field goals in the game, shot 60 percent from three, dished out four assists, and recorded three steals in the regular season finale.

This is the third time over the last six seeks that Shelton has held or shared the Player of the Week recognition. Shelton was also named WCC Player of the Week on January 23 and February 13.

The Lions will compete in the 2023 University Credit Union West Coast Conference Championships on Saturday, Mar. 4 at 7:00 PM. The quarterfinal game will air on ESPN2.
