RENO, Nev. – LMU's final round of play was the best of the 12 teams in the Wolf Pack Classic on Tuesday. After opening the tournament with rounds of 292 and 291, LMU closed the tournament with 273 in the final round including three eagles and 21 birdies.
The Lions finished at 8-under for the tournament to tie with tournament hosts Nevada after shooting 15-under in the third round. Tournament champions Nex Mexico were the only other team to finish double digit strokes under par for the final round.
Cade Anderson earned a top-5 finish after his 71-70-67—208. Anderson shot five birdies in his third round, as well as an eagle on 18. Anderson's 4.08 stroke average on Par 5 holes was second best for the tournament, and he finished 11-under on such holes.
Nobody sunk more par holes than
Riley Lewis' 40. Lewis finished the tournament tied for 19
th at 69-74-69—212.
The two eagles sunk by
Trevor Algya were tied for the most in the tournament. Algya significantly improved his score each round after shooting 81-73-66—220.
Caden McMackin lowered his score with each round as well, finishing at 76-74-71—221.
Staying consistent with three rounds of 76,
Ryder Henares shot 76-76-76—228.
LMU will look to continue the momentum of the final round.
