Briefly… Ryder Henares finished his second season of collegiate golf at LMU in 2022-23.  

HIGHLIGHTS AT LMU...
IN 2022-23 • SOPHOMORE… Competed in four events with a stroke average 75.67… Recorded two of his 12 rounds at or below par… Tied for 23^rd with his 70-77-70—217 at the season-opening intercollegiate.
 
IN 2021-22 • FRESHMAN… Did not compete in a tournament as a freshman.
 
Before LMU: Played 4 seasons of varsity golf at Mater Dei High School, winning Rookie of the Year in 2018, Leadership Award in 2019, and Most Valuable Golfer and Team Captain in 2021.  Won Trinity League Championship in 2018 as a freshman, Trinity League 1^st Team 2018-2021.  Led the Monarchs to 1^st place 2019 Palmetto Championships in Myrtle Beach, SC; 1^st place 2021 CIF-SS Division 1 Title, and runner up 2019 CIF-SS Division 1.  Scoring average of 36 over 4 seasons at Mater Dei (9-hole tournaments).  

2018 SDJGA Par Bar Junior Championship at Vineyard Golf Course (1^st place); 2018 AJGA Live View Sports Championship at San Jose Country Club (T6^th); 2018 AJGA Club Corp Championship at Mission Hills (T11^th); 2018 SCGA 4-Ball Qualifier at Oak Valley (T1^st); 2019 Long Beach Men’s City Championship (T29^th/193); 2021 RSM Amateur Championship at Tijeras Creek (T1^st); August 2021 AJGA Under Armour/Alison Lee Championship at Palos Verde Country Club (T10^th); August 2021 AJGA Ping An Bank Open Championship at El Niguel Country Club (3^rd).

Personal: Ryder was born in Glendale, CA to Raymond and Renee Henares, physicians and owners of MedSolutions, Inc.  He has one younger brother, Reed, Class of 2025 Mater Dei.  Ryder has maintained a GPA of 3.5 or higher over 4 years and graduated Magna Cum Laude in his 2021 class.  He chose LMU for its outstanding academic curriculum, Jesuit values, and successful golf program.
