LA JOLLA, Calif. – LMU men's golf shot 9-under on Sunday's opening round of the UC San Diego Invitational. The Lions shot 279 with 21 birdies, tying for the most of the first day of the event.
Nateesh Anatha Ganesh led the field with a 6-under, 66 performance, including a round-best seven birdies along with an eagle on Hole Seven. Anatha Ganesh holds a three-stroke lead on the five players tied for second.
One of those five at 3-under is
Pablo Garcia Terol, who opened the tournament with his 69, highlighted his eagle on Hole Five. Garcia Terol added three of his four birdies on the back nine.
Trevor Algya,
Louie Liu, and Adam Pederson are all tied for 17
th at even, 72.
Competing as an individual,
Jackson McLaughlin finished at 12-over.
LMU holds a one-stroke lead on UC Santa Barbara who shot 280.
