LOS ANGELES - Stefan Jovanovic, a product of Bishop Montgomery High School who spent the last three seasons playing for the University of Hawaii, will transfer to LMU and play for the men's basketball program, announced Head Coach Mike Dunlap on Tuesday.

Jovanovic, who played all 34 games for a Hawaii team that finished 28-6 overall and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, officially signed his Athletics Grant-In-Aid agreement to attend LMU beginning in the Fall of 2016. He will be immediately eligible to play his senior season in 2016-17 for the Lions.

"Stefan will be a great addition to our program," said Dunlap. "We are able to have someone who has experienced winning at the highest level and will bring three years experience to our roster. He is a Southern California product and it is a great opportunity for him to play his final college season back home."

Born in Serbia, the 6-11 center played in 75 games for Hawaii. He averaged 15.6 minutes off the bench this past season, averaging 4.9 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. He shot 50.8 percent from the field (66-for-130), adding 35 blocks.

As a sophomore, Jovanovic played in 31 games, earning 10 starts. He averaged 5.8 points and 3.7 rebounds per game, finishing with 28 blocks and a 48.3 shooting percentage. As a freshman he played briefly in 10 games, scoring in four of those games, hitting 7-for-13 form the field.

A 2013 graduate of Bishop Montgomery High School, he was a two-year varsity letterwinner for the Knights, earning second-team all-Del Rey league honors as a junior after averaging 10 points, eight rebounds and three blocks per game and helping lead his team to a 25-4 record and an appearance in the CIF quarterfinals.

As a senior, part of a squad that was ranked as high as third nationally and first in the state, they won all three tournaments they competed in and defeated teams from five different states. They finished 32-2 on the year and a perfect 8-0 in the Del Rey League en route to the league title. He is the son of Zoran and Milanka Jovanovic of Kraljevo, Serbia. He is an accounting major.

Jovanovic joins an incoming group of newcomers to the program for 2016-17 that includes freshman wing Donald Gipson from nearby Fairfax High School, 6-8 transfer Joshua Sykes from Fresno City College and 6-10 Oregon transfer Trevor Manuel, who will have three seasons of eligibility remaining. Manuel will be eligible as a sophomore following the first semester of 2016-17.
