WCC Release

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference announced the members of its All-WCC teams, All-Freshman team, and major award winners on Tuesday. Loyola Marymount's Sarina Bolden, Maddie Medved, Charlee Pruitt, Gabbie Sanfilippo, Sarah Sanger, and Phoebe Riley were all honored based on the rankings from the WCC's head coaches.

Sarina Bolden is the lone Lion to make the All-WCC First Team. The sophomore tripled her scoring output from a season ago and led LMU with six goals on the year, tied for sixth-most in the conference. Bolden also tallied three assists and shared the team-high with 15 points on the year. No other First Team selection is a sophomore or younger.

Maddie Medved, a 2016 All-WCC Second Team performer, shared the team-high with Bolden after her five goals and five assists gave her 15 points. Medved's five assists not only led LMU, but were also tied for sixth-most in the WCC. Medved made a tremendous step forward as a junior, after totaling two goals and three assists in her first two years on campus.

Charlee Pruitt followed her 2015 All-Freshman Team recognition with a spot on the All-WCC Second Team in 2016. The LMU goalkeeper posted the fifth-best goals against average in the conference at 1.09 and finished second in the WCC with 86 saves on the year. Once WCC play began, Pruitt lowered her GAA to 0.88. Pruitt has double-digit wins in both of her seasons at LMU, and added five more shutouts this season.

Joining Pruitt in making the jump from All-Freshman Team in 2015 to All-WCC Second Team in 2016 is Gabbie Sanfillipo. The sophomore defender logged over 1650 minutes played, the second most for all field players this season, and assisted on Bolden's game-winning goal at Gonzaga on Sept. 30.

Sarah Sanger repeats as an All-WCC Honorable Mention performer in 2016, after earning the recognition as a sophomore in 2015. In her third season with the Lions, Sanger scored three goals and added three assists for nine points.

Phoebe Riley represents LMU on the All-Freshman Team. The first-year Lion tied for third-most goals on the team with four, and added an assist to move her points total to nine. Riley started 11 games this season, including eight of nine in conference play, and scored the lone goal to knock off #15 Pepperdine, 1-0, on Oct. 30.
