LOS ANGELES — LMU women's soccer dropped a 3-0 decision to Cal State Fullerton on Saturday night at Sullivan Field.
The Titans struck first in the 17th minute when Camryn Cruz buried a shot into the top left corner off an assist from Isabella Cruz. Fullerton doubled its advantage in the 39th minute as Gracie Paton finished into the top right side following a setup from Kayalily Penn. Just three minutes later, Isabella Contreras curled a left-footed strike into the top right corner to make it 3-0 at the break.
LMU continued to generate chances in the second half, with looks from Emma Depailler,
Elise Bolanos,
Grace Thao, and
Alice Zimmerman, but could not break through. The Lions tallied 14 total shots and put five on goal, forcing Titan goalkeeper Isaac Ranson into five saves.
On the other side, LMU's defense was tested often, as Cal State Fullerton fired 25 shots, including 12 on target. Goalkeeper
JJ Hoover recorded eight saves in 70 minutes of action, while
Kaydence Cortez-Garcia added one stop over the final 20 minutes.
LMU (2-2) will return to Sullivan Field on Thursday, Sept. 11, hosting UC Davis at 4 p.m. PT.
