Oct. 19, 2015 Senior Hannah Tedrow was named WCC Player of the Week this week, it was announced by the Conference office on Monday morning. Tedrow helped guide LMU to a 2-0 week last week, including home victories over San Francisco and Santa Clara in WCC play. The weekly honor is the first of the year for LMU, and the second of Tedrow's career.
The Lions earned a sweep over the Dons on Thursday before coming back from a 2-0 deficit to knock off the Broncos in five on Saturday afternoon.
Tedrow averaged 14.62 assists per set in the two matches, registering 40 in the win against USF before posting 77 in the victory over Santa Clara. The 77 assists are tied for sixth-most in LMU history for a single match, and the most since K.C. Walsh had 77 against San Jose State on September 17, 2005. The Lions hit .359 as a team last week receiving sets from Tedrow, including hitting .387 against USF and .346 vs. the Broncos. In addition to setting the attack, the native of Foothill Ranch, Calif. also managed six block assists, including four in the win over Santa Clara.
The Lions will continue WCC play this week with home matches against San Diego and #12 BYU. The Lions host the Toreros in their annual DiG PiNK match benefitting the fight against breast cancer on Thursday at 7 pm before welcoming the ranked Cougars to Gersten at Noon on Saturday.
