LOS ANGELES - Two final non-conference matches are on the slate this week for the LMU women's soccer team. The Lions will travel to UC Irvine on Friday night before returning to Sullivan Field on Sunday to host CSUN at 4 p.m. Sunday's match is part of LMU's Alumni BBQ Weekend activities and all BBQ ticket holders will receive free admission into the Lions' soccer match.
LMU had a three-match win streak snapped at No. 1 UCLA on Sunday, Sept. 21 and enters this week 5-2-1 overall. Shannon Kent scored a late second half goal against the Bruins in the loss, marking just the second goal allowed all season by the nation's top ranked team.
Eight different Lions have tallied at least one goal this season, while Morgan Hilby, Jocelyn Blankenship and Brianne Medved tie for the team lead with three assists apiece. Sophomore Sophia Leksan has played every minute in goal, posting three shutouts and holding a 0.94 GAA.
UC Irvine is 4-4-2 overall, but is unbeaten in its last six matches, 4-0-2. Recent wins have come against WCC members Gonzaga and San Diego, along with a 1-1 draw against UCS. Laura McGrail and Kiana Palacios have three goals each for UCI while Clarissa Robles has a team-high four assists. In goal, Jenn Randazzo has a pair of shutouts and a 1.33 GAA.
CSUN enters the week at 3-5-1 and will host WCC member Santa Clara on Friday before making the trip down to Sullivan Field on Sunday. Only one team has scored in eight of the Matadors nine matches as CSUN has been held scoreless five times while also posting three shutouts of their own. Leandra Walker has two goals for CSUN while Cynthia Tafoya has three shutouts and a 1.34 GAA in the net.

Junior midfielder Jocelyn Blankenship was named to the 2014 All-WCC Preseason Team
Callie Taylor earned the first WCC Player of the Week honor for 2014 after scoring back-to-back game winning goals against New Mexico State and Cleveland State
Sophomore Sophia Leksan posted back-to-back shutouts against Cleveland State and Oregon State
The win at UCSB on Sept. 7 snapped a 14-match road losing streak for LMU. Their last road victory was a big one, however, a 3-0 upset of then No. 15 Pepperdine on Oct. 19, 2012.
Four Lions have two goals apiece as the team enters the week with 12 total goals, having surpassed last year's season total of 10 just seven games into this year.
SERIES HISTORY VS UC IRVINE
Friday's match at UC Irvine marks the 13th all-time meeting between the two squads. The Lions hold a 4-5-3 all-time record against the Anteaters, including a five-match unbeaten streak from 2001-12. In the last match played in Irvine, in 2012, the Lions claimed a 2-0 shutout. Last fall, UCI earned a 3-0 victory over LMU at Sullivan Field.
SERIES HISTORY VS CSUN
The Lions hold a 9-4-0 all-time mark against CSUN, but the Matadors have gotten the better of the series in recent history, winning the last three meetings. Last fall, CSUN scored in the 72nd minute to snap a 1-1 tie and hold on for a 2-1 victory in Northridge.
