LOS ANGELES - Second year LMU women's soccer Head Coach Michelle Myers is thrilled to announce her eight-member 2013 recruiting class. The group includes a pair of goalkeepers, three defenders and three forward/midfield combo players.

"This class will make an immediate impact in terms of adding depth to every position thus creating a competitive environment for playing time at each position," said Myers. They will also help bridge the gap that will occur upon graduating ten seniors at the completion of this upcoming season."

Throughout the next eight days, LMULions.com will showcase the women's soccer incoming 2013 class, highlighting one newcomer per day.

We begin today with forward/midfielder Amanda Jackson who comes from the farthest distance as she hails from Bethesda, Md., and Reservoir High School.

"Amanda is a dynamic playmaker who can play lots of different positions and has the potential to develop into an impact player anywhere on the field here at LMU," said Myers. "Although she has dealt with some injuries that will have her redshirt her first year at LMU, we are looking forward to working with her during her transition to college and seeing where she can make the best impact on the field."

Jackson led her Reservoir Gators squad to the Howard County Championship and the Maryland 3A State finals as a freshman, the State Championship as a sophomore and the State semifinals as a junior. Throughout her high school career, Jackson garnered first team All-Metro League honors for three years, as well as both first team All-Metro Baltimore Area and first team All-State as a sophomore. She tallied four goals and 10 assists and was her team's MVP as a junior before sitting out her senior season to recover from knee surgery.

"Amanda's ability to beat players on the dribble and ability to lose players with her dynamic movement will create matchup nightmares for Lion opponents in the future," Myers added.

Jackson also played club soccer for the No. 4 ranked team in Maryland - the Bethesda Soccer Club. She led her club to three straight Maryland State Championships, a Regional Championship in 2008 and a Region I runner-up finish in 2011. Jackson was also a member of both the Maryland Olympic Development team and Region I Olympic Development team.

Off of the field, Jackson was a four-year member of the Bethesda High School honor roll.

Check back tomorrow as we profile the second of eight incoming freshman on the 2013 LMU women's soccer squad.
