LOS ANGELES - LMU freshman Tawni Martino is one of 24 players to have been invited into the U.S. Under-20 National Team Camp and will be training with the team from February 13-20 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif. Martino is one of 11 collegiate players, including three from the West Coast Conference, to be called into the team. The week will culminate with a match against the University of San Diego on Saturday, February 19 at 3 p.m.

In her freshman season, Martino (Irvine, Calif.) led the Lions in scoring with eight goals and 19 points while setting a school single-season record with five game-winning goals. She was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com All-Rookie Honorable Mention Team and became the first Lion freshman to earn First Team All-WCC honors since Shari Nishikawa in 2000.

She had two goals, both game-winners, and an assist in conference play and became the first player in program history to earn WCC Player of the Week honors twice in the same season. Martino's eight goals in 2010 were the most by an LMU freshman since Cindy Carullo had 10 in 1993 and tie her for the third-most in a single-season in school history. Her 19 points tie for fourth.

In addition to being named to the All-WCC First Team, she was also placed on the WCC All-Freshman Team. She was twice the conference's Player of the Week (August 30 and November 1) and was a CollegeSoccer360.com Primetime Performer of the Week (Oct. 31).
