Results

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Lions came close to topping conference opponent Portland, with a doubles win from Heckel/Pironkova and a big singles win from Elisaveta Pironkova. However this was not enough to stop the Pilots and the Lions fell 4-3.

In doubles play the Lions secured the doubles point with a win from Jasmin Heckel/Elisaveta Pironkova 8-5 on court two. The Lions who earned a win from default dropped one to Portland on court one, however they were able to come back and earn the concession with Heckel/Pironkova's win from court two.

In singles play the Lions earned wins from Elisaveta Pironkova on court four. Pironkova defeated Stefanie Doolittle 7-5, 6-4 for a point on the day. The Lions earned another point by default off of court six. With three points, the Lions needed one more win to secure the overall victory. However the Lions were unable to stop the Pilots in other singles play, both Shauna Morgan and Jasmin Heckel went to a third set tie breaker however they were unable to clinch the win.

Next up the Lions will play their last home match on Tuesday April 20th at 2:00 pm against Cal State Northridge. This will also be the Lions senior day, so come out and support you Lions in their final match of the regular season.
