Becca Weissmann Appointed as Interim Head Coach of LMU Women's Tennis

LOS ANGELES — LMU Athletics is pleased to announce the appointment of Becca Weissmann as the Interim Head Coach of the LMU Women's Tennis team. Weissmann transitions into this role immediately, following her impactful tenure as both the Associate Head Coach and Assistant Coach.
 
Weissmann embarked on her journey with the LMU Lions in 2021 when she was hired as an Assistant Coach. Her dedication and contributions to the team were swiftly recognized, leading to her elevation to Associate Head Coach ahead of the 2025-26 season. Under her guidance, the Lions have achieved significant milestones, including a remarkable 64 victories, boasting a 59 percent win rate. In her inaugural season, Weissmann was instrumental in steering the team to the 2022 NCAA Tournament, where they showcased an impressive 18-4 record, including a notable top-5 victory over UCLA.
 
LMU Athletic Director Craig Pintens expressed his confidence in Weissmann's leadership, stating, "Becca cares deeply about our student-athletes and has been a driving force behind our program's success. Her leadership, relationships, and commitment to the student-athlete experience make her the right person to guide our team during this transition, and I'm excited for her to step into this role."
 
Weissmann shared, "I am extremely grateful and excited for the opportunity to lead the LMU Women's Tennis program. This program has pushed me to grow both personally and professionally and has meant so much to me over the past five years. Stepping into this role feels incredibly special. I have so much love and belief in this team, and I couldn't be more excited for what we will continue to build together. I'm deeply thankful to Craig and the LMU staff for trusting and supporting me along the way, and I look forward to representing LMU with Lion Pride."
