Results

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - After a few tough losses, the Lions come back against Cal State Fullerton with a decisive 6-1 win. The Lions only have four more regular season matches left before the West Coast Confernce Tournament are looking to keep this momentum going into the weekend. LMU was highlighted by singles wins from Jasmin Heckel, Melissa Valenzuela, Shuana Morgan and Elisaveta Pironkova as well as a doubles victory from Bliss Nixon and Shuana Morgan.

In doubles play the Lions started off a little rocky but were able to come away with the doubles decision. On court two, senior Bliss Nixon and Shuana Morgan defeated Akhmedova/Dela Cruz of Cal State Fullerton. Nixon and Morgan came back after having been down to secure the doubles point for the day.

In singles play, the Lions showed strong play across the board. At the number one position, Jasmin Heckel defeated Tiffany Mal 6-4, 7-5 for win. Teammate Melissa Valenzuela stepped up to play at the Lions number two position defeating Monica Rodriquez while Shuana Morgan also moved up in the Lion's line up to play at the number four position and secured a win. The Lions final singles victory came from Elisaveta Pironkova on court five over Akhmedova 6-0, 6-3.

Next up the Lions face a full weekend of competition beginning on Thursday the Lions will play conference opponent University of San Diego at 1:30pm at the LMU Tennis Center.
