Results

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Today in San Diego, CA the LMU women's tennis team was unable to stop San Diego State falling 6-1. Lions were highlighted by Jasmin Heckel and Shauna Morgan's big doubles win in their first time playing together this season, while Estelle LaPorte had another big singles win to give the Lions their only point from the day.

In doubles play the Lions tested out a couple of new combinations. On court two, Jasmin Heckel and Shauna Morgan (who has been injured and saw her first season action today) defeated Wais/Trunk of SDSU 8-6. Jane Pringle and Elisaveta Pironkova played together for the first time this season, however were defeated 8-4 by SDSU's Ellison sisters. On court three Estelle LaPorte who has primarily played singles for the Lions, teamed up with Bliss Nixon on court three, where they fell 8-6 to Aguilar/Cioffi.

In singles play, the Lions only win and point for the day came from Estelle LaPorte. LaPorte defeated Sierra Ellison of SDSU 6-0, 6-0 and now has won her last two singles matches. Shauna Nixon pushed Roxanne Ellison of SDSU to three sets, however fell in the final set, 4-6, 6-1, 10-8.

Next up, the Lions will play University of Minnesota this Sunday March 14th at 11:00 am.
