Final Stats
Loyola Marymount
Head Coach Steve Aggers
On the Game: "I am really proud of our team and this program. This win means a lot more because it came against a quality opponent. We played with real competitive hearts tonight. This team is beginning to build the expectation to be successful in every game."
On LMU's rebounding advantage: "I thought our rebounding, defense and competitive effort for 40 minutes was the difference. We executed our set plays and really played hard for the entire game."
On Andy Osborn: "Andy really had a great weekend. His parents were in town to see the two games and I told them that they couldn't leave."
On the turnovers: "We forced 19 turnovers to one of the league's best teams. I am proud of our defensive effort tonight. The only thing we did not do so well was defending the three-point line. However, Blake Stepp and Kyle Bankhead are two great players who can make tough shots."
On Wes Wardrop: "Wes was nails all weekend. He held a great three-point shooter in check against Portland and then against Stepp tonight he was right up in him and frustrated him. We went to him as a starter because of his defensive energy."
Sophomore Andy Osborn
On the thought of winning: "We expect to win every night. We did not come in here thinking it would be a miracle, but we expect to win. Every team, every game we come out expecting to win."
On hitting the three that gave LMU the lead: "Brandon [Worthy] made a great pass and I was able to set my feet and get a clean look at the basket."
Junior Sherman Gay
On trailing for the first time with five minutes remaining: "Every time they scored we took it personal when they scored. We just dug deeper and looked to make a stop."
Gonzaga University Quotes
Head Coach Mark Few
On the Game: "LMU deserved to win. They were the more aggressive team at both ends at the floor.
On LMU: "We warned our guys 27 times to be ready for this team. We warned them that they would come at us and play hard. They did a very good job and played us tough in Spokane. They really took it to us tonight. We should have told them 28 times."
