Becca Weissmann

Becca Weissmann serves as the Associate Head Coach for LMU Women’s Tennis after joining the program as an Assistant Coach ahead of the 2021-22 season. Her role marks a meaningful continuation of her connection to LMU, where she previously competed during the 2020-21 season and excelled both academically and athletically. As a Lion, she earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors and was recognized as a member of LMU’s prestigious 4.0 Club, demonstrating the academic excellence and discipline that now define her coaching approach.

Since returning to LMU in a coaching capacity, Weissmann has played an integral role in one of the most successful eras in program history. During the 2021-22 season, she helped guide the Lions to an 18-4 overall record and an undefeated home campaign, culminating in the highest national ranking in program history at No. 17 in March 2022. That historic season included LMU’s first-ever victory over a top-five opponent, defeating No. 4 UCLA in a landmark win that elevated the program’s national profile. The success of that year also saw the staff earn West Coast Conference Coach of the Year honors. Building on that momentum, the 2022-23 squad posted a strong 15-7 record with notable victories over nationally ranked programs including No. 26 Cal, No. 29 San Diego, and No. 49 Princeton, further solidifying LMU’s emergence as a consistent national contender.

Before returning to LMU, Weissmann served as an Assistant Coach with the Pomona-Pitzer Women’s Tennis program, contributing to one of the top Division III teams in the country and gaining valuable experience in player development and team culture building.

Weissmann began her collegiate playing career at USC, where she served as team captain and competed primarily at No. 2 doubles along with multiple positions between No. 2 and No. 6 in singles. Her leadership and character were honored with the 2019 USC Trojan Spirit Award, recognizing her embodiment of passion, family, and sportsmanship. Despite battling injuries during her senior year, she remained a model of resilience and academic excellence, earning ITA Scholar-Athlete honors, selection to the Pac-12 All-Academic First Team, and recognition on USC’s ITA All-Academic Team. She also served as the Women’s Tennis Representative on the Trojan Athletic Senate and as a Student Ambassador on the Health and Wellness Committee. Her commitment to integrity and sportsmanship earned her the prestigious 2020 Southwest Regional ITA Cissie Leary Sportsmanship Award.

Her foundation as a competitor was built long before college. A standout junior player, Weissmann was ranked No. 1 in Colorado and reached No. 12 nationally, earning five-star blue-chip status from TennisRecruiting.net. She captured the Colorado 5A state singles championship as a freshman and began her high school career with a remarkable 34-0 record.

Now serving as Associate Head Coach, Weissmann combines elite playing experience, academic distinction, leadership credentials, and firsthand knowledge of LMU’s culture. Her impact continues to shape a program competing at its highest level, helping develop the next generation of Lions both on the court and in the classroom.
