LA JOLLA, Calif. – The lead has grown for both LMU men's golf on the team leaderboard and
Nateesh Anatha Ganesh on the individual leaderboard following Monday's second round of play at the UC San Diego Invitational.
Anatha Ganesh is now seven strokes ahead of second place at 15-under after following his stellar opening round performance with a clean second round. Anatha Ganesh has shot 66-65—131 over the first two days and not only matched his seven birdies from Sunday, but did so without tallying a single hole over par. His 14 birdies through two rounds are the most in the field, and his one total bogey is the fewest.
Pablo Garcia Terol sits in a tie for 10
th at 69-73—142.
Following up his opening round of par,
Trevor Algya shot one-under on Monday to sit in a tie for 18
th at 72-71—143.
Adam Pedersen (72-73—145) and
Louie Liu (72-74—146) close out the LMU five.
The team holds a seven-stroke lead on the competition at 279-282—561. The Lions extended their lead after the first day from one stroke to seven with the seven-best round of the day. Holy Cross shot 12-under on Monday, an improvement from the opening-round 11-over. Collectively, LMU has totaled 44 birdies, which is four more than the next closest school.
Competing as an individual,
Jackson McLaughlin has shot 84-78—162.
The final round from Torrey Pines Golf Club – PGA North will tee off with a shotgun start beginning at 7:00 AM.
