Becca Weissmann Elevated to Associate Head Coach for LMU Women’s Tennis

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - LMU Women's Tennis is proud to announce the elevation of Becca Weissmann to Associate Head Coach, marking her fifth season on staff after joining the Lions in the 2021-22 season as an Assistant Coach.

Weissmann has been an integral part of the program's growth and culture since her arrival, bringing high-level experience, academic excellence, and a deep personal connection to LMU. Before stepping into coaching, she competed for the Lions during the 2020-21 season, earning ITA Scholar-Athlete honors and recognition in LMU's 4.0 Club, demonstrating the same work ethic and leadership she now instills in her student-athletes.

Prior to LMU, Weissmann spent time as an Assistant Coach for the Pomona-Pitzer Women's Tennis program. Her playing career began at USC, where she served as team captain, competed at No. 2 doubles and various positions between the No. 2 and No. 6 singles positions, and earned multiple academic distinctions. She was honored with the 2019 USC Trojan Spirit Award for embodying passion, family, and sportsmanship.

Despite injuries during her senior year, Weissmann continued to excel academically and athletically. She earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors, was named to the Pac-12 All-Academic First Team, contributed as the Women's Tennis Representative on the Trojan Athletic Senate, and served as a Student Ambassador on USC's Health and Wellness Committee. Her perseverance and integrity were recognized nationally when she received the 2020 Southwest Regional ITA Cissie Leary Sportsmanship Award.

A standout junior player, Weissmann entered her collegiate career with an accomplished background. She finished high school ranked No. 1 in Colorado and as high as 12th in the nation, earning five-star blue-chip status from TennisRecruiting.net. She claimed the 2013 Colorado 5A state singles title as a freshman and opened her high school career with a perfect 34-0 record.

Now entering her fifth season with the Lions, Weissmann continues to play a pivotal role in player development, program culture, and competitive success.
