WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. – The Lions have returned to the course after the winter break midseason hiatus. LMU men's golf shot 295 in the opening round of Pepperdine's Southwestern Invitational, the first event of the spring semester.
Trevor Algya sits in 22
nd of the 75-player field after shooting 1-over 71 in his first round. The senior opened his day with a Birdie on 10 then followed with birdies on 14, 15, and 17 to close out his 34 first nine.
Louie Liu totaled three birdies in his first seven holes and finished two over par at 72 to place in the top 30 of the field.
Nateesh Anatha Ganesh (75) and
Pablo Garcia Terol (77) both scored for the Lions. Anatha Ganesh recorded an eagle on 12.
Daniel Bullen finished at 9-over for the day.
As a team, LMU ranks 12th of 13.
The second round will begin on Tuesday morning with all five Lions teeing off this time from the first hole. Bullen will begin play at 9:45 AM, with Garcia Terol following at 9:56 AM, Anatha Ganesh teeing off at 10:07 AM, Liu starting play at 10:18 AM, and Algya beginning at 10:29 AM.
