LOUDON, Tenn. –
Trevor Algya shot 67 in two of his three rounds of play to tie for Fifth at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate. Algya finished as one of three players at 4-under over the three-day season-opening event.
Algya recorded four birdies on Sunday and finished his tournament with 10 birdies to shoot 67-72-67—206. Algya finished three strokes off the lead after jumping 15 positions on Sunday's moving day. The senior's other top-5 finish came when he won the Kapolei Invitational as a sophomore in 2023.
Shooting his best round as a Lion,
Nateesh Anatha Ganesh shot a 69 on Sunday to finish his tournament at 71-72-69—212. Anatha Ganesh added five birdies in the final round to lead the team with 13 birdies over three rounds of play.
Daniel Bullen also made a significant jump after the third round, moving from 75
th to 62
nd with his 74-75-72—221.
David Gutierrez (73-69-82—224) and
Louie Liu (73-74-82—229) closed out the five for the Lions.
LMU collectively totaled 56 birdies, which ranked seventh in the tournament. As a team, LMU shot 278-290-298—861 to stay in 11
th place.
The next event for the Lions will be playing at the Olympia Fields Country Club for the Fighting Illini Invitational from Sept. 19-21.
