CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina – Weather continues to be a factor in LMU's NCAA Regional this week. The Chapel Hill Regional was forced to suspend play on Tuesday with nine of the 13 teams starting their third round and four teams waiting to begin.
The day started with teams and individuals closing out their second rounds if they were unable to do so the day before. By 9:00 AM ET, all competitors had completed 36 holes. The third and final round was slated to begin at 10:00 AM ET.
At 11:08 AM ET, play was suspended for the first time of the day. It turned into a 24-minute weather-related pause before play resumed at 11:32 AM ET. Play was suspended for the second time of the third round at 11:47 AM ET, and despite attempts to resume later in the day, the call was made by 2:00 PM ET to suspend the round until Wednesday at 7:30 AM.
After two rounds of play, the Lions moved up a place in the team scores from ninth to eighth after shooting 278-282—560.
Riley Lewis remained at 5-under and entered the final round tied for 12
th with a 65-70—135.
Trevor Algya stayed under par with his 69-70—139.
Mason Snyder shot 70-72—142 and
Caden McMackin shot 74-70—144 to sit in LMU's third and fourth positions.
Cade Anderson closed out the LMU five with his 75-76—151.
