CHULA VISTA, Calif. – LMU men's golf has now recorded seven top-3 individual finishes in the 2023-24 season.
Mason Snyder and
Riley Lewis added to that running total, finishing second and tied for third, respectively, at the R.E.L. Invitational presented by Lamkin Golf Grips.
Snyder took two more strokes off his total in Tuesday's final round and finished the three-round event in sole possession of second place and two strokes off the leader with his 65-71-70—209. Snyder tied for the tournament lead with 17 total birdies.
Lewis recorded his 17
th top-5 finish after tying for third with a 68-69-71—208.
Caden McMackin tied for 33
rd after finishing at 70-70-75—215.
Trevor Algya shot 76-70-75—221.
Rounding out the LMU five was
Tony Hendricks at 76-72-74—222.
As a team, LMU tied for fifth at 15-under par. The Lions shot 279-280-290—849 over the two-day event at San Diego Country Club. LMU's five recorded 57 birdies and two eagles in the event.
The Lions will host the Pauma Valley Invitational for their next event. The tournament will be held March 18 and 19 at Pauma Valley CC.
