PAUMA VALLEY, Calif. – LMU men's golf welcomed 14 top teams from across the country to join the Lions in LMU's hosted event at the Pauma Valley Country Club. The Lions jumped three positions in Tuesday's final round to finish in the top-10 of the Pauma Valley Invitational.
Freshman
Mason Snyder lowered his stroke total round-by-round to finish 3-under for the event at 71-70-69—210. Snyder rose ten positions after his final round to finish the event tied for eighth.
Caden McMackin jumped the second-most spots of any player on Tuesday, moving 21 positions into a tie for 22
nd at 74-71-68—213 after shooting three-under in his final round.
Riley Lewis was the third Lion to shoot his best round to close the event, finishing at 73-73-70—216.
Trevor Algya (74-74-74—222) and
Tony Hendricks (75-74-75—224) closed out the five-player team results.
The Lions shot 292-288-281—861 to place 10
th for the event at 9-over par. LMU led the field with two eagles, both coming on Hole 2. Snyder recorded an eagle in his second round and McMackin added one in his final round. The pair also combined for 21 birdies over the 54 holes.
Competing as Individuals,
Alejandro Alonso shot 71-79-73—223 and
Cade Anderson finished at 74-79-71—224.
Rain hit the course on Monday and was present in the first two rounds.
The Lions will next compete at the Duck Invitational March 25-26 in Eugene, Ore.
