BREMERTON, Wash. – The LMU men's golf team is tied for fourth following the opening two rounds of the 2023 West Coast Conference Championships.
The Lions shot 1-over as a team to sit in a tie with Santa Clara at 288-289—577.
Riley Lewis leads the team at 5-under thanks to three consecutive birdies on nine through 11. Lewis also closed his round with birdies on two of the final three holes to finish at 70-69—139 through 36 holes.
Both
Caden McMackin and
Trevor Algya are in the top-20 of the field after Friday's round. McMackin is tied for 16
th at 73-71—144 after an eagle on 18 and Algya is tied for 19
th at 74-72—146 after opening his round with three birdies through the first six holes.
Scoring for the team is
Cade Anderson at 71-78—149.
Tony Hendricks closes out the LMU five with his 74-77—151.
The third and final round will begin on Saturday at 7:30 AM with the first three teams teeing off. The Lions will follow with the next wave beginning at 8:20 AM and follow one another every 10 minutes thereafter.
