KAPOLEI, HI – LMU men's golf shot 12-under and sits in a tie for sixth in the competitive Kapolei Invitational after Tuesday's opening round. The Lions also have two players in the top three of the 114-player field.
Riley Lewis shot an opening round 65 to sit in a two-way tie for first. Lewis was even through six holes before rattling off five birdies over the next eight holes. Lewis lowered his score to 7-under with an eagle on 17.
Similarly,
Tony Hendricks stayed at par or under for his opening 18 with a 6-under, 66. Hendricks recorded birdies on holes one, four, 11, and 14, and matched Lewis with an eagle on 17.
Trevor Algya sits at par with a 72 and
Cade Anderson shot an opening-day 73.
Mason Snyder closed out the LMU five with his 76.
Caden McMackin shot 3-under, 69 competing as an individual.
The tournament will continue at 8:00 a.m. Hawaiian time with LMU teeing off from the 10
th hole. Each Lion will follow in nine-minute increments. McMackin will tee off with a group of individuals at 9:48 a.m. local time from the first hole.
