STOCKTON, Calif. – LMU men's golf finished in second place after shooting 275-278-274—827 over three rounds this week at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invite. The Lions shot 29-under on the Par 72, 7278-yard course at The Reserve at Spanos Park to finish only behind tournament champions Grand Canyon (275-278-274—827).
LMU led the field on Par 4 Holes, shooting 12-under on such holes, which is twice as low as the next closest schools. The Lions recorded the second-most birdies in the field at 61 and added four eagles.
Riley Lewis continued his strong play with four birdies on Wednesday to finish in a tie for sixth overall at 11-under, 66-69-70—205.
Trevor Algya added an eagle to his day in the final round to tie for 13
th at 70-69-70—209.
Tony Hendricks finished a stroke back at 70-69-71—210 to tie for 15
th.
Rounding out the scoring five,
Mason Snyder shot 72-68-71—211 and tied for 21
st.
Cade Anderson closed his day with two birdies over the final four holes to finish at 72-74-71—217.
LMU has now finished in second or better as a team in three of the first four tournaments of the year for the first time in school history.
The Lions will head out to Hawaii to next compete in the Kapolei Classic from Oct. 31 through Nov. 2.
