LOS ANGELES – Hanna Luft has resigned from her position as the Head Coach of Rowing at Loyola Marymount University, Athletic Director Craig Pintens announced on May 19, 2019.

Luft just completed her second year as the head coach of LMU rowing and fifth with the program, leading the Lions to a pair of runner-up finishes in the WCC. Luft, formerly Hanna Osborne, was a four-year letterwinner for the Lions. A 2013 All-West Coast Conference selection as a senior, she was also a team captain in her final year. 

"I want to express my deep gratitude to Craig Pintens and Dan Smith as well as the rest of the department for the opportunity to lead this program the past seasons. As my alma mater and a program I have poured my heart into for the past 5 years, it is a tough decision to leave but one that is best for my family. Due to my husband's job we will be relocating to Texas but I will forever be an LMU Lions fan and will be looking to return to the rowing world shortly."

Our rowing program continues to grow, and Hanna has laid a foundation for future success that our new coach will be able to build on.  We want to thank Hanna, her husband Matt and son George for their dedication to LMU Rowing. Hanna will always be a major part of our program and we wish her family well in relocation to Texas," said Craig Pintens, Athletic Director.
 
A national search will begin immediately for the new Rowing Head Coach at LMU. Any inquiries should be made to sport supervisor and Senior Associate Athletic Director Dan Smith or Athletic Director Craig Pintens.
