STANFORD, Calif. – Senior Riley Elmes is prepared for his second-consecutive NCAA Division I Men's Golf Regional, which will be played May 10-12 from Stanford Golf Course.
 
Elmes, who walked in Loyola Marymount University's commencement on Saturday, completed a practice round on Sunday before beginning the three-round regionals on Monday morning.
 
The Lake Oswego, Ore., native will tee off as part of Group 15 at 11:04 a.m., the final group to start at hole 1. Elmes' group consists of Denver's Cal McCoy and the top two individuals in Austin Squires of Cincinatti and Elmes. In total, the Regional hosts 25 groups, consisting of three players per group.
 
The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals.
 
Stanford Golf Course opened in 1930 and was designed by famed architects George C. Thomas and Billy Bell Jr. It underwent a renovation by John Harbottle in 2008. In 2018, Beau Welling Design oversaw a renovation that included reconstruction and relocation of nearly every bunker, new irrigation, and the modification of several holes, notably the par-4 fifth and par-4 11th. The par-70 course will measure 6,727 yards.
 
"The course is in great shape," said Head Coach Jason D'Amore. "It should be a good test this week. Riley prepared well and excited to watch him this week."
 
Located on campus below the scenic foothills, the sprawling, championship layout is flanked by majestic oak trees and San Francisquito Creek comes into play on nearly half the holes. Most offer stunning views of the surrounding mountains. San Francisco, about 30 miles north, can often be seen from the elevated 18th tee.
