WCC Release
SAN BRUNO, Calif. –
Riley Elmes is once again a member of the West Coast Conference men's golf All-Conference first team. The senior shared tournament-best honors at this past weekend's men's golf championships, before competing in a playoff for the individual title.
Over the weekend, Elmes shot 6-under, 71-70-69—210 at the WCC Championships, including a birdie on the final hole to force the tiebreaker.
Elmes continues to be the team leader this season, carrying a 71.24 stroke average into the postseason. If that stands, that will be the second-lowest single season mark in program history, surpassing his 71.33 (2017-18) and 71.72 (2016-17) from the past two seasons.
This year, the senior has four top-two finishes, including five tournaments with a final score under par.
The Lions will be watching the Division I NCAA Men's Golf Selection Show on the Golf Channel this Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 6 p.m. pst to hear if Elmes will return to the national stage as an individual selection. In 2018, Elmes competed in the Stockton Regional as a junior.
