Lions Set for WCC Championships

LOS ANGELES, Calif., -- The Loyola Marymount women's tennis team is set to participate in the West Coast Conference Tennis Championship this week in Claremont, Calif.

The Lions will close out their 2018-19 season this weekend, as they will enter the conference championship as the No. 4 seed. LMU earns its seeding after putting together a 5-4 conference campaign.

LMU is on a three-game winning streak, as the team recently beat Long Beach State, Santa Clara and San Francisco at home.

The Lions will head to the Conference Championship with the No. 89 doubles tandem of Veronika Miroshnichenko and Eva Marie Voracek, who were named to the All-WCC Second Team Doubles. The pair holds down the No. 1 spot on the court and is 10-7 on the season.

Miroshnichenko leads the Lions in singles play, as she is 9-5 on the season and was named to the All-WCC Second Team Singles.

The Lions will take on the fourth seeded Saint Mary's on Thursday. The winner of that match will advance to the semi-finals on Friday to take on No. 1 San Diego.
