Box Score SAN DIEGO, Calif., -- The Loyola Marymount women's tennis team fell in its last regular season away match of the season on Sunday, as the Lions fell to No. 41 San Diego 4-2.
The Lions started the day off with doubles play, where
Siobhan Anderson and
Lillian Gabrielsen beat Daniela Morales and Maria Tyrina on court two 6-2.
The No. 65 doubles tandem of
Veronika Miroshnichenko and
Eva Marie Voracek fell to No. 57 pair of Maria-Paula Torres and Solymar Colling on court one 6-3 to even things out.
Elvira Juravliova and
Camila Tumosa fell to Kati Kukaras and Gemma Garcia on court three, 6-4 clinching the doubles point for USD.
Down 1-0, Yessica de Lucas tied things back up on court five, as she beat Torres 6-4, 6-2. Juravliova fell to Kukaras on court four 6-0, 6-2, while Anderson pushed Morales to three sets, but couldn't keep up the pace, as she fell 0-6, 7-5, 6-4, giving USD a 3-1 lead.
Tumosa pushed Tyrina to three sets and came out with a win on court six, 4-6, 6-1, 7-5, giving the Lions their second singles point.
Miroshnichenko pushed Colling to the end, but fell 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, clinching the match for USD. The Lions will be back home at LMU Tennis Center for their last three matches, with their first one being on Wednesday against Long Beach State.
