Box Score PROVO, Ut., -- The Loyola Marymount women's tennis team (8-7, 3-3) picked up a quick 4-1 win over BYU Friday afternoon on the road.
"We competed very hard despite coming from a tough loss against Utah where we had a match point," said head coach
Agustin Moreno. "Very proud of our team and how we dealt with many difficulties."
The Lions set the tone in doubles play, as the doubles tandem of
Eva Marie Voracek and
Veronika Miroshnichenko easily beat Anastasia Abramyan and Kate Cusick on court one 6-2.
Elvira Juravliova and
Camila Tumosa beat Samantha Smith and Taylah Beckman on court three 6-2, clinching the doubles point for the Lions.
Up 1-0, the Lions went into singles play. Miroshnichenko put the first singles point on the board after beating Cusick 6-3, 6-2.

Siobhan Anderson fell to Polina Malykh on court three 6-2, 6-3.
Up 3-1, Voracek clinched the match for the Lions after beating Abramyan on court two 6-1, 6-4.
The Lions will be back on the courts on Sunday to take on San Diego at 11:00 a.m. in San Diego, Calif.
