Starting with doubles play, the tandem of
Eva Marie Voracek and
Veronica Miroshnichenko beat Anastasia Goncharova and Juliana Valero 6-3, while Lilian Gabrielsen and
Siobhan Anderson beat Stephanie Yamada and Tiffany Lagarde on court two 6-4.
Camila Tumosa and Elvira Juravilova put up a fight against Amit Lev-Ari and Lise Sentenac, but fell 3-6.
Up 1-0, the Lions went into singles play, where Miroshnichenko pushed Volodko to three sets, but fell 5-7, 7-6(5), 1-0(8) on court one, while Voracek fell 6-2, 6-3 on court two.
Anderson picked up a win over Lagarde on court three 6-0, 6-4, while Juravilova beat Valero 7-5, 6-1 on court four.
Yesica De Lucas picked up a quick 6-2, 6-3 win over Lise Sentenac, while Gabrielsen beat her opponent Goncharova on court six 6-3, 7-5
The Lions will be back on the court on Monday to host Marquette at 11 a.m. at LMU Tennis Center.
