LOS ANGELES – The Loyola Marymount University women's basketball team will play its last non-conference games of the season this week in New Mexico at the Lobo Invitational.
The Lions will head into this week's tournament coming off of a dominating 94-46 win over Cal State San Bernardino, where
Jasmine Jones earned her fourth double-double of the season, and now leads the West Coast Conference in double-doubles.
Chelsey Gipson and
Raychel Stanley lead the team in points, with 98 a piece, while Jones has 96 and also leads in rebounds with 69. Gipson leads the team in assists with 29, and three-point shots made with 18.
Khari Clark leads the Lions in total blocks with 10.
The Lions will kick off the Invitational against Ball State on Wednesday, and then take on New Mexico on Thursday and Providence College on Friday.
Ball State is Went 4-4 on the season and will be meeting with the Lions for the first time in program history. LMU last met with the 8-4 Lobos in 2013, where the Lions picked up a loss, giving them a 3-7 record against New Mexico, with the last win being in 2011. The Lions have only met with Providence College (8-1) once, where the Lions beat the Friars by 11 points in 2004.
The Lions will tip-off against Ball State on Wednesday at 4:30 PM (3:30 PST).
