LOS ANGELES - The LMU women's basketball team is officially back in the gym, kicking off summer workouts with a renewed sense of energy and focus as they prepare for the 2025-26 season.
Returning leaders
Carly Heidger,
Zawadi Ogot,
Maya Hernandez,
Allison Clarke and
Mari Somvichian are setting the tone early, helping a new-look squad begin building chemistry both on and off the court.
With six newcomers joining the roster;
Jess Lawson,
Andjela Matic,
Kayla Jones,
Ivana Krajina,
Lova Lagerlid, and
Ana Milanovic, the summer sessions are all about laying the foundation.
Also, back in action are
Ali'a Matavao and
Paula Reus Piza, both of whom missed time last season due to injury but are now healthy and ready to contribute.
With a strong mix of returning experience and international talent, the Lions are embracing the grind and keeping their eyes set on growth. The 2025-26 schedule will be announced soon, but for now, the focus is all on what's happening behind closed doors and the momentum already starting to take shape inside Gersten Pavilion.
