TDS Freshman Midseason Rankings
The Loyola Marymount University Lions men's soccer team (7-4-3, 2-0-0 WCC) head north looking for their third straight West Coast Conference win when they take on the Pacific Tigers on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 7:00 p.m.
LMU remains unbeaten in conference after getting wins against Gonzaga and Portland at Sullivan Field. The last time the Lions won their first three conference matchups was during the 2013 season where head coach
Paul Krumpe's team won the WCC and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
The Lions head into the weekend having outscored their opposition 19-14, with seven different players scoring two or more goals.
CJ Neville and
Duhaney Williams lead the team with three goals each while
Brandon Sanchez and Williams are tied for the team lead in assists with three.
LMU, as a team, leads the WCC in shots (214) and ranks in the top half of the conference in goals (19), assists (19), saves (52), points (57) and is tied for first in shutouts (7).
Freshman
Noel Caliskan, recently ranked as the No. 22 freshman in the country according to Top Drawer Soccer's midseason rankings, leads the Lions in minutes played (1230) and is one of 10 Lions' players with 10 or more shots on the season.
Jacob Jackson continues to be strong in goal for LMU. His save percentage of 0.792 puts him second in the conference and 29th
in the country and his goals against average of 0.842 places him fourth among WCC goalies.
The Lions
Narciso Cervantes enters the weekend as one of four LMU players with multiple-point performances on the season. Cervantes also is second on the team in minutes played at 1183 and has started in all 13 games he's played in.
LMU will continue their conference season on Tuesday, Oct. 30 when they travel south and take on the No. 18 University of San Diego with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m.
